Recognizing Signals
As we discussed it the last post, Trusting Your Gut, you must also need to pay attention to the following signals during your interactions. These can be very benificial when trying to read someones true intentions. No these are only a guide and should be combined with many diffent factors and sometimes can also lead to a false impression; however, they can help you judge and hopefully determine someones genuine intentions.
1. Body Language: Non-verbal cues can speak volumes. Are they open and engaged, or closed off and disinterested? Positive body language, like leaning in, eye contact, and nodding, generally indicates a genuine reaction.
2. Tone of Voice: Listen to how your client communicates. A hesitant tone or lack of enthusiasm can be a sign of uncertainty, while an enthusiastic and confident tone can suggest excitement about the potential collaboration.
3. Alignment of Values: During your conversation, gauge whether your values and vision align. TRUST YOUR GUT, if something feels off, it likely is. A mismatch here can lead to challenges down the road.
